What do I do if I have an opponent?

If you have an opponent, you will need to run a small campaign to support your election.

1. After the filing deadline on February 4, 2026, check to see if you have an opponent on the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections website: 2026 Candidates List

2. Starting in March and April, talk with your neighbors who you know are Democrats and your ward or city Democratic club, tell them you are running for Central Committee, and ask for their support.

3. In April, make a flyer about your candidacy and circulate it to the list of Democratic voters in your precinct, telling them why you are running and what you hope can be accomplished with new members on the Central Committee.  We can provide a template for this with your picture.
